How do you smoke the Electronic cigarette?

E-smoking is different from normal smoking. E-smoking is a matter of inhaling rather then smoking. When you inhale, you should consider the following: Do not inhale continuously or for a long period. Do not pull too heavy, too fast or too many times in a short period of time. This will have a negative effect on the cigarette function Always pull slowly (3 to 5 times pulling) and let the atomizer rest in between for at least 3 minutes. Over consuming your E-cigarette will lead to malfunctions. If you wish to inhale more or more frequently it is advised to use 2 sets of E-cigarettes alternatively. Do not use liquids or cartridges other than those delivered with your e-cigarette.

Analog cigarettes – VS – electric cigarettes

Posted on 30th March 2011 in Alternatives to Smoking, Electronic Cigarette

ANALOG CIGARETTES  – VS -  ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES

What is the difference between analogs (real cigarettes) and e-cigs (electronic cigarettes)?

What’s in a Real Cigarette

The main ingredient in cigarettes is tobacco. There are also over 600 other ingredients / chemicals to make up 1 cigarette. 51 of them are known to be carcinogenic. A carcinogen is something that causes cancer.

Chemicals in cigarettes and cigarette smoke are known to cause not only cancer but also other serious health problems. For example, emphysema (COPD).  Many of the chemicals are poisonous.

FACT: If a person ATE one pack of cigarettes, he/she would die.

The World Health Organization estimates that tobacco caused 100 million deaths over the course of the 20th century. The death toll is projected to reach more than 8 million by 2030 if current trends continue.

Familiar Chemicals in Cigarettes

Chemical Found in:
carbon monoxide car exhaust
nicotine bug sprays
tar material to make roads
arsenic rat poison
ammonia cleaning products
hydrogen cyanide gas chamber poison
cyanide deadly poison
acetone nail polish remover
butane cigarette lighter fluid
DDT insecticides
formaldehyde to preserve dead bodies
sulfuric acid car batteries
cadmium used to recharge batteries
freon damages earth’s ozone layer
geranic acid a fragrance
methoprene a pesticide
maltitol a sweetener not permitted to be used in foods in the U.S.
Sources: Dr. Joel Dunnington, Tobacco Almanac, Revised, May 1993.

Three of the most widely known chemicals are: nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide.

Nicotine is highly poisonous in its purest form.

Tar is the oily material which remains after tobacco passes through the filter. When a smoker inhales, a lot of the tar sticks to and blackens the lungs.

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas. A smoker inhales this gas which is also found in the exhaust of a car. This gas interferes with our respiratory (breathing) and circulatory (heart, arteries, and veins) systems.

What is An Electric Cigarette?

An electric cigarette is a battery operated device that is designed to simulate smoking.  A fluid, called e-liquid or e-juice, is heated in a chamber to produce a smoke like vapor.  Note that there is no smoke, but only vapor.  This liquid contains propylene glycol, flavorings, and often times nicotine.

An electric cigarette consists of 2 or 3 parts, depending on the model you buy.

The cartridge – Contains the E-liquid / E-Juice – The flavoring of your choice (there are hundreds of flavors to choose from)
The atomizer unit – Heats the liquid to create vapor.
The battery unit – Powers the atomizer.

The electronic cigarette allows smokers to sit in restaurants and bars alongside of non-smokers without clashing because E-cigarettes do not contain tobacco nor do they require an open flame. The smoke-like puff upon exhale of an electronic cigarette consists of a harmless, odorless water vapor that disappears within seconds.

Electronic cigarettes are available through various retailers both in various brick and mortar stores and online. The models vary from brand to brand but the electronic cigarettes all function alike. In addition, E-cigarettes contain none of the carcinogens expelled by smoking a real cigarette, which is coming to be known as an “analog” cigarette.

The nicotine is available in varying milligrams usually from 0mg – 26mg much like the various nicotine patches and gum products available over-the-counter to adults who are trying to quit smoking or as a way to help a smoker get through a long flight where smoking of tobacco-filled cigarettes is not allowed. Most electronic cigarette users manage to quit smoking even though the electronic cigarette cannot claim to be a cessation device due to questionable reasons asserted by the FDA.

What is in the liquid (known as e-liquid or e-juice)

The three main ingredients that are in liquid form are: a base of Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine and Artificial Flavorings. Different flavorings may contain different ingredients, such as menthol, fruit acids, water and alcohol.

Ingredient Found in:
Propylene Glycol Food flavorings, toothpaste, cosmetics, medicines, mouthwash, saline solutions, etc.
Vegetable Glycerin Cough Syrups, toothpaste, skin care products, store bought “healthy” cookies and cakes etc.
Nicotine Tomatoes and eggplants, pharmaceutical gums, patches, lozenges, etc
Artificial Flavorings Almost everything edible

Price of Cigarettes V’s E-Cigs

The costs between analogs/tobacco cigarettes and the electronic counterpart are amazing after the initial cost of a starter kit consisting of 2 rechargeable batteries, 1 to 2 atomizers, USB or AC charger for batteries, and usually a pack of 5 cartridges pre-filled with liquid vapor and nicotine. A user manual is included with each kit purchased including information about the e-cigarette, battery life, cartridge life, cleaning instructions, and more.

Cigarettes – 1 Pack/Day E-Cigarette – 1 Pack/Day
Approx $10 / Day Starter Kit plus liquid for 1 month = Approx $30 – $85
Approx $300 / Month Monthly Maintenance = Approx $50
Approx $3600 / Year Starter Kit Plus Monthly Maintenance = Approx $635 / First Year, Each year thereafter = Approx $575

Traditional Cigarette VS Electronic Cigarette – Flavor

Electronic cigarettes will never provide an exact flavor match to any famous analog cigarette brand, as it does not contain real tobacco or the 600 other analog ingredients but a simulated flavoring. E-cigs do, however; provide a huge range of flavors that can be used in them. Flavors range from famous tobacco brands, to fruit, chocolate, candy, cream desserts, coffee flavors and many more. Mixing flavors to create new ones has also become increasingly popular in the world of Vaping.

We have heard a lot of negative comments about electronic cigarettes. Here is the truth; stopping smoking is the best thing for your health. We are not promoting nicotine use, however; smokers far and wide want to quit and simply can’t, now they have another alternative to analog cigarettes. This is not a smoking cessation device, but take a look at the comparisons and make the decision on electronic cigarettes vs. analog cigarettes for yourself.

Breathing easier after switching…..

Posted on 15th November 2009 in Alternatives to Smoking, Electronic Cigarette

Let’s face it, smoking real cigarettes is hazardous to ones health. Smoking cigarettes can cause COPD (Emphysema), chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, slow the healing process, as well as other conditions and complications. We know for a fact that regular cigarette smoking is hazardous to your health! Have you ever taken a puff on a real cigarette, and blown it into a napkin? That is tar, and it gets deposited onto your lung tissue! No wonder you can’t breathe!

What about e cigarettes? Are they hazardous? Since the e cig is relatively new, we cannot say for certain. What we can say is that anecdotal evidence is promising. Since there is no combustion, there is no tar….. Logic would suggest that e cigarette smoking is at least less hazardous. Usually we listen to our bodies, and doing a quick google search on the countless testimonials, you will find that most people really do feel better after switching to the ecig.

Electronic Cigarettes- The ONLY way to quit!
