Myth:  Electronic cigarettes are being sold to kids.
Fact:  Electronic cigarettes are marketed and intended for committed smokers who are of legal smoking age.

Consumers of e-cigarettes, just like real cigarettes, must be 18 years of age to purchase.

Myth:  Electronic cigarette cartridges offer flavors that are appealing to underage users.
Fact:  Most adult-intended products offer a plethora of flavors.

Go into any liquor store, and you will also find a variety of flavors. Furthermore, nicotine gums and lozenges come in several flavors, including fruit, mint, and more. Electronic cigarettes are marketed for the adult consumer over the age of 18.

Myth:  Electronic cigarettes make nicotine readily available to non-smokers.
Fact:  Electronic cigarettes are marketed to current smokers, not non-smokers. This would be equivalent to saying "Alcoholic beverages are available to non drinkers."

Nicotine is available in many forms, including over-the-counter products.

Myth:  No one knows what is in electronic cigarettes.
Fact:  Studies have been conducted and the ingredients are well known.

Multiple studies by different laboratories around the world have been conducted. Most e-liquid contains Propylene Glycol, Food Grade Flavorings, and Nicotine. Do you know how many chemicals are in a real cigarette? Over 4,000.

Myth:  Electronic cigarettes cannot be legally marketed in the US.
Fact:  The US government has not issued any formal guidance on electronic cigarettes.

Myth: Nicotine is bad for you.
Fact: While it is always best to eliminate nicotine completely, the long-term use of nicotine is thought to be much safer than tobacco smoking.

Nicotine is extremely addicting, as most of us know.  Countless attempts at smoking cessation has caused us to seek alternatives that might work for us.  The idea is to reduce the harm caused.  Electronic cigarettes offer the responsible adult smoker another choice in nicotine delivery.

Myth: Electronic cigarettes are very expensive.
Fact: Dedicated electronic cigarette users spend on average of $30-$50 per month. Compare that to real cigarettes, which can cost $300 a month or more.

Even at $5.00 per pack, that is $150 per month.  The savings are tremendous.
